Hewitt to head up social and digital at Tank PR

Globally renowned social media consultant Nik Hewitt has joined Nottingham based PR agency Tank PR as digital strategist.

The new role will see Nik head up the agency’s successful social media and digital PR offering.

An industry pioneer, Nik has worked in the digital industry for almost 20 years. He has worked on the Daily Mail Group’s groundbreaking digital platforms, and was a lead strategist for Conversify, then one of the world’s most influential social media consultancies working for the likes of AT&T and providing social insight for the development of PRNewswire’s Agility platform. He has also created strategy and ongoing engagement for brands as diverse as Speedo and Ripley’s Believe it or Not! Nik also won a BAFTA for his filmmaking talents when working with the Department of Media Culture and Sport.

“I have known Trevor and Martin since 2006 – they’ve always embraced new technology and they saw the benefits of social and strong brand journalism before a lot of the competition,” explains Nik.

Tank PR’s digital and social media offer includes digital strategy creation, social media implementation and social media training.

Nik’s appointment comes in the same month that Tank PR has been appointed to handle PR for national VoIP telephony company Actopia and Scottish fashion brand AyeSpy Glasses.
