Not to sound too nostalgic, but the team at Tank PR HQ have been looking back over the busy summer we’ve had, and we thought we’d share one of the highlights with you.
When Red Bull picked up the phone and invited us to pitch for a project, we were obviously intrigued. A competitive pitch followed and we were on cloud nine after leaving the competition behind and impressing Red Bull with the energy and enthusiasm we’ve become known for.
The project focussed on the Red Bull Music Academy Sound System Stage at Nottingham Carnival. Our job was simple: promote the nine-hour celebration of Afro-Caribbean and bassline music, the mix of international acts, carnival legends and local talent, and ultimately get as many people there as possible.
Alongside the official line-up announcement, we whet the appetite of the media and all round cool kids by hosting a Carnival Countdown party at The Corner in Nottingham. Featuring performances from a number of the line-up acts, a jerk chicken BBQ and an endless supply of Red Bull, over 150 people braved the hottest day of the year to embrace carnival spirit.
By the day of the main event, team Tank had achieved nearly 100 pieces of coverage across print, broadcast and online media. We were on hand backstage to look after all of the media interviews we arranged and even had to put our journalism skills to good use to help out a camera crew that was missing an interviewer.
When headliner Artwork took the stage with a classic garage set, almost 6,000 people had been through the gate, doubling the number of visitors from 2012.
Not a bad achievement for this Nottingham PR agency.
